Great to meet you!

Bri Barbour, LMHC, MCAP, NCC

I specialize in helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use concerns. With experience in both mental health and addiction treatment, I understand the complexities of co-occurring issues and work to address the whole person, not just the symptoms.

My goal is to empower you with tools that foster resilience, improve relationships, and create lasting change. Whether you’re seeking clarity, coping skills, or a deeper sense of peace, we’ll work together to help you move forward.

Areas of Focus:

  • Anxiety & Stress Management
  • Trauma & PTSD
  • Substance Use & Recovery
  • Life Transitions
  • Coping Skills & Emotional Regulation

My approach to therapy

Stress adds up. Anxiety creeps in. Old wounds resurface. Life shifts faster than you can keep up. I work with adults who are overwhelmed, burnt out, or simply tired of feeling “not like themselves.” My style is honest, gentle, and focused on helping you understand what’s going on beneath the surface so you can breathe again and move forward with more clarity. Therapy with me is both grounding and practical. We talk openly about what you’re experiencing, why it feels so heavy, and what needs to shift. I don’t rush you, and I don’t sugarcoat things either, you’ll get a calm, supportive space to process, along with realistic tools you can actually use in your daily life. I draw from approaches like CBT, trauma-focused care, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused strategies. Together, we identify patterns that keep you stuck and build the skills you need to feel more steady, capable, and in control. My goal is simple: to help you feel understood, supported, and better equipped to handle whatever life is putting in front of you.

What you can expect from me

Welcome! Your first counseling session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a supportive relationship. Here’s what you can expect:

1. Introduction & Confidentiality: We’ll start by reviewing how counseling works, including confidentiality and its limits. You’ll have time to ask any questions.

2. Sharing Your Story: We’ll talk about what brings you to counseling, your current concerns, and any important background information.

3. Setting Goals: Together, we’ll identify what you hope to achieve in therapy. Your goals will guide our work moving forward.

4. Next Steps: Before the session ends, we’ll discuss what future sessions might look like and any helpful resources or strategies you can use between visits.
