Great to meet you!

Take a moment to recognize that you’ve already taken an important first step toward improving your mental health. Beginning medication can feel empowering, confusing, and even scary—all at the same time—and those feelings are completely valid.

If you’re new to medication, I’m here to guide you through each step of the process. If you’ve tried medications in the past and didn’t get the results you hoped for, I can help you navigate the wide range of options available today. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space to explore medications that may help relieve your symptoms as efficiently and comfortably as possible.

Medication can help manage symptoms, improve daily functioning, and support your ability to fully engage in therapy or counseling. I believe that, for many people, a combination of medication and counseling leads to the most meaningful and lasting improvement. If that’s what you’re looking for, I’m here whenever you’re ready to begin.

If you’d like, I can also make this more clinical, more conversational, or shorter for a website or brochure.

My approach to therapy

I take a client-centered, supportive, and collaborative approach to psychiatric mental health medication management. I understand that starting or revisiting medication can bring up a wide range of emotions, and I work to normalize those experiences while providing clear guidance and support throughout the process.

I meet clients where they are—whether they are new to medication or have had previous trials with less-than-ideal results—and help them thoughtfully navigate the available treatment options. I prioritize safety, education, and informed decision-making, creating a supportive space to explore medications with the goal of relieving symptoms as efficiently and responsibly as possible.

I view medication as one component of a comprehensive treatment plan and believe that combining medication management with therapy or counseling often leads to the best outcomes. My goal is not only to reduce symptoms, but also to improve daily functioning and support clients in fully engaging in their mental health care.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a foundation for your care. I understand that starting mental health treatment—or returning to it—can feel overwhelming, so my goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and supported.

During our initial visit, we will spend time reviewing your current concerns, symptoms, and what prompted you to seek care. We’ll talk about your mental health history, past treatment experiences (including medications and therapy), medical history, and any other factors that may be impacting your well-being. This conversation helps me develop a clear and individualized understanding of your needs.

If medication is part of what you’re seeking, we will discuss potential options together. I prioritize education and shared decision-making, meaning I will explain the purpose, benefits, and possible side effects of medications so you can make informed choices about your care. No decisions are rushed, and your questions are always welcome.

We will also talk about treatment goals and what improvement looks like for you. When appropriate, I may recommend therapy or collaboration with other providers, as I believe a comprehensive approach often leads to the best outcomes.

By the end of the session, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of next steps and a plan moving forward. Most importantly, my aim is for you to leave feeling supported, respected, and confident that you are not navigating this process alone.
