Great to meet you!

My name is Brianda, I am a cisgender mixed race (white, Afro-Puerto Rican) therapist in northern Arizona. My personality tends toward groundedness, balance, abundance, warmth, examining power dynamics, and holding space around the more difficult realms of life. I have experience working with individuals who have survived loss, culturally and identity-based trauma, and sexual violence.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I work to support adults who struggle with wounds connected to grief, culture, and intergenerational trauma. I root in Latinx/Chicanx, Black/African American, Indigenous, and Queer psychologies and teachings. I incorporate approaches from EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Somatics, Compassionate Bereavement Care, and Body Trust.

What you can expect from our first session

You are going to hear me constantly invite curiosity and compassion toward your internal experiences, your histories, and your environment. We will ground in our capacities to hold complexity, multitudes, the both/and. We are going hold space around collective and multigenerational contexts. I am going to be here to listen, to support you as painful stories and feelings emerge and move, and to encourage you in connection, vision, presence, and paths forward.
