Great to meet you!

Some clients come to me grieving a loss no one around them fully understands. Others are learning, for the first time, how to have a relationship with food and their body that isn't at war. I'm Bri, a Hudson Valley therapist working with adults and couples on grief, disordered eating, anxiety, and relationship and identity questions with no easy answers. My approach is holistic and person-centered: I want to know the whole person in front of me, not just the symptom that brought you in. I welcome LGBTQIA+ and transgender clients, and anyone who wants a space where they don't have to perform being okay.

My approach to therapy

My approach blends several evidence-based methods with a whole-person view of healing. We might use cognitive behavioral tools to work with unhelpful thought patterns, acceptance and commitment strategies to build flexibility around difficult feelings, or narrative and psychodynamic work to understand the stories and history shaping how you move through the world. I also draw on mindfulness-based and solution-focused approaches, and I always build from your strengths rather than what feels broken. Sessions are collaborative: we'll figure out together what combination of these tools actually fits your life, at a pace that feels doable.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is really about getting to know each other. I'll ask about what brought you to therapy now, what's felt hard, and what you're hoping changes. There's no pressure to have it all figured out. Many clients tell me they leave feeling lighter just from being heard without judgment, and from there we build a plan together, one that flexes as your life does. You'll leave knowing you don't have to carry this alone.
