Great to meet you!

Sometimes anxiety, depression, or the effects of trauma can make everyday life feel heavier than it used to. You may find yourself overwhelmed by worry, struggling to feel connected or motivated, carrying grief that has not had a place to go, or experiencing reactions to past experiences that you do not fully understand. I work with seniors and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief or loss, trauma, and PTSD. These concerns can also intersect with family challenges, stress, panic, or relationship difficulties, especially when emotional experiences begin affecting the way you connect with yourself and the people around you. Therapy can offer a space to slow down, feel understood, and make sense of what you have been carrying. Together, we can work toward greater understanding, emotional stability, and a stronger sense of hope for what comes next.

My approach to therapy

Our work will make room for both what you are experiencing today and the experiences, relationships, and emotions that have shaped how you got here. We’ll explore how anxiety, depression, grief or loss, trauma, and PTSD may be affecting your emotional wellbeing, relationships, and sense of safety. I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you recognize patterns in thoughts and behaviors that contribute to distress and develop healthier ways of responding, Trauma-Focused CBT to help you process difficult experiences while building skills to manage the emotions connected to them, and Cognitive Processing Therapy to examine thoughts and beliefs that may have developed following trauma and create space for new ways of understanding what happened. Our sessions will be collaborative, compassionate, and paced with your needs in mind. We can make room for the complexity of grief, stress, panic, family experiences, and relationship difficulties while also focusing on practical tools that can help you feel more grounded and capable in your everyday life.

What you can expect from me

You do not need to know exactly where to begin or have the right words for everything you have been experiencing. During our first few sessions, we will take time to understand what brought you to therapy, what has been most difficult, and what you hope will feel different. Together, we will create goals that feel meaningful and realistic and decide where it feels most helpful to begin. You can expect me to listen with warmth and compassion while creating a space where you can talk openly about difficult emotions and experiences without feeling judged or rushed. Progress may look like feeling less overwhelmed by anxiety or panic, reconnecting with yourself when depression feels heavy, working through grief, feeling safer after trauma, or developing healthier ways of navigating stress and relationships. We will continue checking in on your goals and adjust our work as your needs evolve. When you are ready, you can schedule your first session with me through Headway.
