I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in trauma recovery, anxiety, and mood disorders, with a deep focus on supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and marginalized individuals. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community myself, I am passionate about providing an affirming space where your identity is celebrated and your lived experience is truly understood. My work often involves helping clients navigate the complexities of substance abuse and childhood or adulthood traumas through a personalized, eclectic approach. I primarily utilize CBT and Solution-Focused therapies to help you build practical tools for change, while also drawing from Feminist therapy and Existentialism to address deeper systemic and personal goals. My mission is to empower you to find clarity and resilience, no matter how heavy the weight of the past may feel.
My therapeutic approach is primarily Solution-Focused and CBT-based, meaning I focus on helping you develop practical tools to manage anxiety, mood disorders, and the impacts of trauma in your daily life. While I provide a goal-oriented structure to our work, I also incorporate Feminist Therapy and Existentialism to ensure we are addressing the broader systemic and personal identity factors that shape your experience. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I lead with an affirming, person-centered lens that prioritizes your safety and autonomy. I believe therapy should be a collaborative partnership where we move at your pace to achieve lasting, meaningful change. Whether we are navigating substance use or healing from past trauma, my role is to provide the expert support and evidence-based strategies you need to reclaim your life.
In our first session, my primary goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing your story. We will start with a "getting to know you" conversation to discuss what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. I’ll ask about your history—including any experiences with trauma, anxiety, or substance use—so I can understand the full picture of your well-being.
Because I value a Solution-Focused approach, we will begin identifying your specific goals early on. You can expect a blend of clinical assessment and authentic connection, ensuring that by the end of the hour, we have a clear starting point for our work together. This is also a great time for you to ask me any questions about my process or how we will use CBT and other tools to support your growth.
