Great to meet you!

I've been working in mental health for over four years — first in the addictions unit at the South Carolina Department of Corrections, and before that I served in the U.S. Army for five years, including a deployment to Afghanistan. I mention this not to impress anyone, but because it shapes how I work. I've sat with people in really difficult situations, and I don't flinch at hard stories.I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor based in South Carolina, and I see clients virtually across the state. I work with adults, adolescents, and seniors dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, grief, OCD, anger, and more. I also have a particular interest in working with veterans, military families, and women navigating major life transitions — including the postpartum period.I'm direct, I'm practical, and I'm not going to just nod and ask "and how does that make you feel?" every session. We'll actually work on things.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative — meaning you're not just sitting there while I analyze you, and I'm not handing you a one-size-fits-all program. We figure out together what's actually happening and what would actually help.I pull from CBT, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Gestalt depending on what you're working through. I tend to think about the whole person — emotional, physical, and mental health aren't separate things, and I don't treat them that way.I work well with clients who want to understand themselves better and are open to doing the work, even when it's uncomfortable. If you want someone who will give you honest feedback and not just validate everything you're already thinking, that's probably where I shine.

What you can expect from me

Honestly? A lot of talking — mostly from you. The first session is about me getting a real picture of what's going on and what you're hoping to get out of this. I'll ask questions, you answer what you want to answer, and we start to figure out if working together makes sense.I'm not going to push you to go places you're not ready to go in session one. But I also won't tiptoe around the hard stuff indefinitely. We'll be real with each other from the start, and that usually makes the work go a lot faster.
