Great to meet you!

I am a licensed psychologist specialized in working with children, adolescents, and young adults with chronic illnesses and their families. My experiences with this population has developed my skills to help individuals with stress-management, anxiety, adjustment to life changes, and behavior management/parenting skills of all children.

I’ve worked in a hospital setting for the past 12 years providing therapy to help with the adjustment to a chronic illness and coping through the trajectory of an illness. It is my goal to help improve your ability to cope with your chronic illness and find ways to improve your quality of life. I also work with parents of children with chronic illnesses. I am passionate about helping parents maintain the goals they had for their child before diagnosis. I have helped many parents develop their parenting and behavior management skills, which then encourages their child to continue developing socially, emotionally, and academically.

My approach to therapy

I believe the most important aspect of therapy is developing a strong therapeutic relationship and connection with your therapist. I aim to make each patient feel comfortable and cared for with my warm, empathetic, and friendly personality. I help sort through your concerns, develop goals based on these concerns, and then utilize specific strategies to help you achieve your goals. My primary approach to therapy is using techniques of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Behavioral Modification.

What you can expect from me

The introductory session allows you to share your story and reasons for seeking therapy. This will guide our sessions and help us develop goals. Each session after the introductory session, I provide practical ways to help clients work toward achieving these goals and improving quality of life and emotional functioning. I look forward to working with you.
