Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Brianne Scheinberg. I earned my Master’s degree from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College in 2013 and have been working in the mental health field for over 13 years. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with children, teens, and adults in both school and clinical settings.

I particularly enjoy working with teens and adults and believe that feeling understood and comfortable is an important part of the therapeutic process. I strive to create a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and be yourself. Together, we can explore the challenges you’re facing, build on your strengths, and develop tools to help you feel more confident and empowered in your life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and focused on helping you feel comfortable from the very beginning. I believe therapy works best when you feel heard, understood, and supported, so I take the time to get to know you and understand your unique needs and goals.

I use approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, along with a positive, strengths-based approach. Together, we’ll identify what’s working, explore areas you’d like to change, and develop practical tools and strategies to help you navigate challenges and work toward your goals.

My goal is not only to support you during our sessions, but to help you feel empowered and confident using the skills you learn independently in your everyday life. I see therapy as a partnership, and I’ll collaborate with you to provide the support that best fits your needs.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and comfortable environment where you feel heard, seen, and supported. We’ll take time to get to know each other and talk about what brings you to therapy, while moving at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I believe in meeting each client where they are and taking a gentle, nonjudgmental approach. Together, we’ll begin identifying your needs and goals and discuss how I can best support you. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy and my hope is that we can work together to determine what feels most important and meaningful to you.
