Great to meet you!

Sometimes what looks like anger, anxiety, or “just being stressed” is really the result of carrying too much for too long. You may feel constantly on edge, overwhelmed by emotions, stuck in patterns you do not fully understand, or affected by experiences from the past that still show up in everyday life. I provide virtual individual therapy for adolescents and adults throughout Florida, with a focus on anxiety, stress management, anger management, trauma, and PTSD. I also support clients navigating depression and ADHD when those concerns are contributing to difficulties at school, work, home, or in relationships. I became a mental health counselor after recognizing how many people were trying to manage difficult experiences without the support or guidance they needed. That perspective still shapes my work today. My goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can understand what is getting in the way, recognize your strengths, and begin moving toward the person you want to be.

My approach to therapy

I believe there is usually more underneath a struggle than what we see on the surface. My approach is warm, empathetic, holistic, and collaborative. We may look at current stressors while also exploring experiences or patterns that contribute to anxiety, anger, trauma responses, depression, or difficulty staying focused and organized. Depending on your needs, I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you identify thoughts and behaviors that keep you stuck, and Trauma-Focused CBT when past experiences continue affecting the way you feel or respond today. I also use Motivational Interviewing when part of you wants change while another part feels uncertain, Problem-Solving Therapy to make overwhelming situations feel more manageable, and behavior management strategies to help build healthier and more consistent responses. We will work together to identify roadblocks, understand what is behind them, and find realistic ways forward.

What you can expect from me

Our first sessions are about getting to know you and figuring out what would actually make therapy useful for your life. We’ll talk about what brought you in, what has been most difficult lately, and what you would like to see change. Together, we’ll identify both short-term and longer-term goals and decide where it makes the most sense to begin. You can expect me to be warm, open-minded, and supportive, while also helping you look honestly at patterns that may no longer be serving you. Progress might mean feeling less overwhelmed by anxiety, responding to anger with greater control, managing stress more effectively, processing trauma in a safer way, improving focus with ADHD, or reconnecting with yourself during depression. My hope is that therapy gives you greater understanding of yourself along with practical tools you can use long after the session ends.
