Great to meet you!

Hi there! My name is Dr. Brittany Bridges and I am a licensed clinical psychologist serving clients in Virginia. I am dedicated to providing compassionate, neurodiversity-affirming, evidence-based mental health treatment for adults. I specialize in helping individuals experiencing concerns related to complex trauma, identity-based trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, and more through a warm, inviting, and holistic approach.

I completed my PhD in Counseling Psychology at the University of Florida, where I also served as a writer, researcher, educator, and scholar in addition to my clinical training. My academic research explores the impacts of systemic interaction on mental health outcomes for QTBIPOC populations, as well as culturally competent mental healthcare.

My approach to therapy

I utilize a feminist framework informed by cognitive behavioral interventions to create a safe therapeutic space where clients can feel supported, understood, and co-create pathways to lasting wellness. I strive to create a warm, inviting, collaborative, and egalitarian space where my clients can cocreate their healing plan and feel empowered to make healing changes in their daily lives. I value making my space safe for each unique client, tailored to each client's unique needs. I do not believe therapy is one size fits all and I strive every day to create intentional care plans for clients who put their trust in me.

What you can expect from me

In your first session, I will spend time getting to know you as a human and learn more about your hopes and goals for therapy. I will ask questions about your specific mental health challenges and we will collaboratively develop a care plan that feels like a good fit for you. In future sessions, we will periodically refer back to your care plan and goals for therapy and make modifications as necessary.
