Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Brittany Davis, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner (LSATP) in Virginia. I’m passionate about helping adults feel more grounded, confident, and connected—especially when life has been shaped by trauma, chronic stress, anxiety, depression, or painful patterns that keep repeating. I also support clients navigating recovery from substance use, relationship and family stress, burnout, and major life transitions.

My background includes community and outpatient settings as well as private practice, and I bring a trauma-informed, whole-person approach that considers mind, body, and spirit (when that fits your values).

My approach to therapy

In therapy, you can expect a warm, structured, collaborative space. We’ll move at a pace that feels safe, and we’ll focus on practical tools you can use between sessions—while also making room for deeper healing. Depending on your needs, I integrate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). This means we’ll work on understanding patterns, strengthening coping skills (emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness), processing trauma-related beliefs, and supporting lasting behavior change in a way that respects your readiness and goals.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, we will talk about what brought you in, what you’ve tried so far, and what you want life to look like on the other side of this. We’ll also review your history in a way that feels manageable, identify your strengths, and set a clear plan for therapy. Many clients leave the first session feeling relief, hope, and a sense of direction.
