Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Brittany and I recently started a counseling practice called Resilient Strength Counseling, PLLC! I have a Master's Degree in Licensed Professional Counseling and have been counseling for over 12 years. Prior to counseling, I was a teacher for 6 years. I have worked with all age groups, but am currently only working with adults ages 18 and up. Currently, I am licensed in the States of WA and GA.

I specialize in working with those who have experienced trauma, anxiety, and ADHD. I can help clients process trauma, learn coping skills, identify and improve boundaries, identify values and life goals, provide psychoeducation on mental health, learn how to change behaviors to improve one's overall quality of life, and more!

My approach to therapy

I work with clients in a collaborative approach to therapy. You, the client, are in charge of your therapy. I am simply here as a guide to help you reach your goals. During counseling sessions, I utilize evidenced based therapy techniques including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)/Tapping, Polyvagal Therapy, and some Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Techniques. Counseling sessions may last 90 minutes for an intake session or 45 minutes - 1 hour for follow-up appointments.

What you can expect from me

Starting your counseling journey can be scary; being vulnerable with a stranger is different, and allowing yourself to feel emotions you have tucked away can be overwhelming. That's why working with someone you trust and finding the right counselor is important! I offer a 15 minute consultation to help ease some of your anxiety and see if we are a good fit prior to your intake session.

After consultation, the first session is your intake session. It can last up to 90 minutes in order to gather background information, identify a diagnosis (which helps us bill insurance for the counseling services) and identify your goals for therapy so we can create a treatment plan. Your intake session is not what a normal counseling session is like!

Follow up sessions are more of what your counseling experience will be like. These sessions will last 45 minutes - 1 hour. This is where you (the client) really begin to talk more, learn about your diagnosis and coping skills, and take the lead of your counseling journey!
