Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Brittany, a therapist in Virginia. I work with women, men, teens, moms, and couples who are carrying a lot and could use someone in their corner. People come to me feeling anxious, worn down, stuck in a hard season, overwhelmed by early motherhood, or struggling to connect with the person they love.

Therapy with me feels like a real conversation. I’m warm, honest, and judgment-free, and I’ll gently hold you to the goals you set — with a little humor along the way, because healing doesn’t have to be heavy all the time. You won’t just leave with a space to vent. You’ll leave with practical ways to quiet the noise in your head, calm your body when everything feels like too much, set boundaries that actually hold, and talk through what’s hard instead of swallowing it.

I have specialized training in pregnancy and postpartum mental health, and a deep love for supporting moms through everything that comes with it — the exhaustion, the guilt, the grief, and the question of who you are now. I’m also certified in a relationship program for couples that helps you understand each other’s patterns, communicate without it turning into a fight, and rebuild trust — whether you’re preparing for marriage or working through a rough stretch.

And I’m a military spouse, so I know the rhythm of deployments, moves, and coming home from the inside. Military members and families will find someone here who gets it without needing it explained.

Wherever you’re starting from, you deserve to feel seen. I’d be honored to walk alongside you toward growth, healing, and thriving.

My approach to therapy

I’ll be straight with you: therapy with me doesn’t feel like lying on a couch while someone nods and asks how that makes you feel. It feels like a conversation — a real one, with someone who’s actually listening and who isn’t afraid to tell you the truth.

I’m direct. If I notice a pattern you keep running into, I’m going to name it. If you set a goal and then spend three weeks avoiding it, we’re going to talk about that. Not to shame you, but because I think being gently called out by someone who genuinely cares about you is one of the most useful things therapy can offer. Most people have plenty of folks in their life who’ll tell them what they want to hear. I’d rather be the one who tells you what’s true.

That honesty comes with a lot of warmth. You won’t be judged in my office, and you won’t be talked down to. We’ll laugh sometimes. You can show up messy, or undone, or not knowing what you want to say — that’s allowed.

I draw on CBT, DBT, IPT, and mindfulness, so you’ll leave with real tools and not just a space to vent. But I don’t run therapy by a script. I meet you where you are, we figure out together what you’re actually working toward, and then I help you get there — and hold you to it along the way.

What you can expect from me

The first session is mostly about getting to know each other — no pressure to have it all figured out before you walk in.

We’ll start with the practical stuff: a little paperwork, how confidentiality works, and what you can expect from the process. Then I’ll ask you some questions about what brought you here, what’s been going on lately, and what your life looks like outside of this hour. Some of it is background, some of it is just me getting a feel for who you are.

You don’t have to tell me everything on day one. If there’s something you’re not ready to talk about yet, say so, and we’ll come back to it when you’re ready. I’d rather you feel safe than feel rushed.

Before we wrap up, we’ll talk about what you want out of therapy and what a good outcome would actually look like for you. You’ll leave with a sense of where we’re headed and what the next few sessions might focus on.

Mostly, I want you to leave that first hour feeling like you were heard — and like you can breathe a little easier knowing you’re not carrying this by yourself anymore.
