Great to meet you!

I’m Brittany James-Wilson, LCSW, a licensed clinical therapist based in Rochester, NY. I help individuals and couples navigate life’s challenges and transitions with greater clarity, confidence, and emotional balance.

My work focuses on maternal mental health, relationship concerns, anxiety, and life adjustments. I provide a warm and supportive space where clients can explore their emotions, identify unhelpful patterns, and develop tools to improve communication and strengthen connections.

My approach is collaborative and grounded in practical, real-world strategies. Whether you’re working to improve your relationships, adjust to parenthood, or find balance in your daily life, I aim to help you move forward with a deeper sense of stability, self-awareness, and peace.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in creating a safe space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported. I believe therapy should feel like a partnership — we work together to explore your experiences, identify patterns, and build practical strategies that support lasting change.

I draw from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), strengths-based, and person-centered approaches, while also incorporating mindfulness and relational techniques to help you better understand yourself and your connections with others.

Whether you’re navigating relationship stress, adjusting to parenthood, or managing anxiety, my goal is to help you gain insight, develop coping tools, and create meaningful shifts that support your emotional well-being and personal growth.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and talk about what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask questions to better understand your background, current challenges, and goals for our work together. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and share what you’re hoping to gain from therapy.

My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, supported, and understood. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you while beginning to identify the areas you’d like to focus on. By the end of the session, you’ll have a sense of how we can work together to help you feel more grounded, connected, and equipped to manage life’s challenges.
