Great to meet you!

Welcome! I'm Brittany (she/her), a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing therapy & medication management to teens & adults in Washington state via televisit. I specialize in working with ADHD, Autism, and complex trauma, including issues such as mood swings, difficulty building and maintaining relationships, addictive behaviors, dissociation, and low self-esteem. As a clinician with ADHD who is part of the LGBTQ+ community, I strive to provide a space that feels safe and affirming for ALL. In sessions, I will support you in exploring your past, the ways that you survived it, and any patterns or behaviors that are holding you back in the present. Together, we will work to help you reach your unique goals and build a life that feels joyfully and authentically yours.

My approach to therapy

I believe that an effective therapeutic relationship is a partnership; my role is to offer my support and clinical expertise, but YOU are the expert on yourself and your treatment will be based on your goals, preferences, and needs. Psychotherapy forms the backbone of my practice. I use a flexible and person-centered approach, utilizing concepts from various trauma-informed modalities and adapting to your needs and preferences in order to provide the most effective care possible. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is the primary therapy modality that I use, though I am trained in and pull from other modalities including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and parts work/Internal Family Systems (IFS). I prescribe non-controlled medications when needed to help manage symptoms.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, I will spend time getting to know you, your story, and your goals. It is important to me that you do not feel rushed and are able to share freely, but that I also have time to ask about current and past symptoms that may impact your treatment plan. For this reason, your first session with me will be booked in a 2-hour time slot. Follow up appointments are 60 minutes.
