Great to meet you!

I am a clinical therapist with a deep commitment to creating a supportive and therapeutic experience to clients seeking progressive evidence-based treatment. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology and my master’s degree in social work from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, where I gained extensive knowledge in mental health services, theory, and hands-on field experience.

After graduating, I provided in-patient services to a forensic population navigating various mood, personality, behavioral, and neurological disorders. I later continued working with forensic clients to support their transition to the community. Eventually, I transitioned into private practice, where I now provide telehealth services to individuals seeking support for depression, anxiety, trauma, and personality disorders.

My approach to therapy

As a clinical therapist, I provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their experiences and work toward meaningful growth. My approach is both goal-oriented and psychodynamic, allowing us to address specific areas of improvement while also exploring deeper patterns and past experiences that may be shaping your present.

I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care, with experience supporting clients navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, and personality disorders. I also incorporate mindfulness techniques and have a particular interest in African American psychology and the impact of cultural identity on mental health. My practice is client-centered, recognizing the intersections of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and other aspects of identity in the therapeutic process.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a collaborative environment where they feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences at their own pace. My goal is to help clients develop awareness into their patterns, challenge limiting beliefs, and build practical coping skills that promote emotional well-being.

Together, we’ll work on fostering self-acceptance, resilience, and personal growth. Whether you’re looking for concrete strategies to manage distress or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, therapy with me is a space where healing happens through self-exploration and empowerment. While therapy may not always provide immediate answers, it offers the tools and support needed to navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and confidence.
