Great to meet you!

Hello! I am a psychologist who supports individuals with a variety of life concerns, such as stress, anxiety, depression, feeling lost or uncertain about next steps in life, building a supportive social network, and learning how to explore and align with personal values.

I specialize in working with gifted and high-achieving individuals, including intellectually talented students and professionals in demanding fields such as law, healthcare, and business. We work together on themes such as perfectionism, pacing, balance, and self-care.

Another area of focus is providing a safe and supportive space for clients to navigate life transitions, including adolescence, early adulthood, college, parenthood, the empty-nest phase, and changes in relationships and employment. I have experience working with the LGBTQIA+ community and individuals seeking a spiritually open-minded therapeutic approach.

In addition to my clinical work, I am a passionate advocate for mental health. I am a member of the American Psychological Association and a past President of the Missouri Psychological Association. I offer coaching and consulting services to graduate students and training programs. In my free time, I enjoy time outdoors at the lake, on the hiking trails, or hunting for hidden waterfalls.

My approach to therapy

I believe in the importance of a holistic approach to well-being, and I integrate mindfulness and self-compassion practices into my work. I am committed to creating a therapeutic environment that is inclusive, supportive, and empowering for all clients.

My theoretical orientation is grounded in third-wave cognitive behavioral interventions (think CBT, DBT, ACT). Though we might have some structured exercises for “stinkin’ thinkin’” and behavior changes, we also play together. Humans of all ages can benefit from processing thoughts and feelings through games, stories, art, movement, and humor.

My style of therapy works well with people who are eager to learn and goal-oriented, those who are introspective and curious about their thoughts and feelings, and those who are open to trying new things.

What you can expect from me

I invite clients to co-create this healing space together. I see myself as more of a trail guide who walks alongside someone on the journey, rather than an expert leading to a "right" path. I hope clients feel seen, heard, and understood so that we can have honest and earnest conversations about needs and goals. I hope clients feel curious about their challenges, learn strategies that offer relief, and have something to work on between sessions. Overall, I hope they feel like they’ve taken that next step toward creating a life worth living.
