Great to meet you!

Having witnessed traumas from my own life, I know what it feels like to have hurt as well as healing. I have always loved teens & adults and strive to love them right where they are. I've worked closely with people since college (over 15 years ago) through private practices, group practice, churches, rehab. centers, camps, & conferences. I have training/skills to comfortably work with teens, allowing me to get to know them in a very authentic way. I have extensive experience working using CBT & EMDR methods & I have expertise in anxiety, relationship issues, & traumatic experiences that you need to work through!

Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in youth ministry at a 17,000-member church in Newport Beach, CA and fell in love working with people and I wanted to contribute to people's lives in an even deeper way, not only through a ministry context but through professional counseling in a 1/1 setting. It has been deeply enriching ever since!

Brittany is trained to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy to engage in helping those in hardships. Brittany will equip you to embrace the fullness of who you are by quickly identifying beliefs that are no longer serving you. Brittany engages by listening, intentional attunement, curiosity, and empathy to support you in this work.

Brittany specializes in working with adults (18+) and teens (13+) seeking help from symptoms of stress, anxiety, women’s issues, difficult life changes/transitions, and trauma through attachment-based therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, narrative therapy, and evidence-based interventions.

My approach to therapy

Hi! I'm Brittany. I work with adults & teens. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy & look at your goals. I help people with authenticity & warmth. I use approaches that benefit you depending on your specific goals, including CBT, attachment-based therapy, inner child work, EMDR, or a mix of these!

CBT uses a variety of techniques, including cognitive restructuring. Cognitive restructuring involves identifying and challenging unhelpful beliefs and thoughts that no longer serve you.

Education & Experience

Brittany holds a bachelor’s degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Cedarville University and a master’s degree in Professional Counseling. Brittany has completed Basic EMDR training, as well as attaining certification in Narrative Focused Trauma Care Level I from the Allendar Center in Seattle, WA. Brittany completed the Health Coach Training Program to become a health and wellness coach from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition which is licensed by the New York State Education Department and earned recognition by the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC).

Brittany is passionate to see people healed from the inside out through the integration of health and wellness principles. Transformation occurs when the body, mind and heart are working in unison and symbiotically, and it is Brittany’s mission to use therapy as a tool to help people achieve that.
