Great to meet you!

With over 14 years of experience in the mental health field, Brittini Carter is passionate about supporting Black, Brown, and queer individuals on their healing journeys. She is known for helping clients develop greater awareness of their emotional responses and build practical skills to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and intention.

Brittini began her online practice in 2017 with the goal of expanding access to care and equipping clients around the world with evidence-based tools to support meaningful growth and resilience. She earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Troy University in 2008 and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor in the state of Florida.

In addition to her clinical work, Brittini is a Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher. After completing her training through a Yoga Alliance–approved program in 2019, she opened a practice focused on yoga and guided meditation. By blending her expertise in mental health and holistic wellness, Brittini offers a unique, integrative approach that supports both emotional and mind-body healing, including specialized yoga experiences for individuals in the Central Florida area.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is holistic, integrative, and client-centered. I believe healing happens when we look at the whole person—not just symptoms, but emotional, mental, physical, and personal experiences that shape daily life. I work collaboratively with clients to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where self-awareness, growth, and emotional healing can unfold at a pace that feels right for you.

I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness practices. These tools are thoughtfully integrated and tailored to meet your individual needs, strengths, and goals. My goal is to empower you with insight and practical skills while honoring your unique journey toward balance, resilience, and well-being.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a welcoming, low-pressure space where we focus on getting to know you—not just your concerns, but your whole self. We’ll talk about what brought you to counseling, your goals, and what you hope to gain from therapy. I’ll also ask questions about different areas of your life, such as emotional well-being, relationships, stress levels, physical health, lifestyle, and any spiritual or personal values that are important to you.

This session is collaborative and paced at your comfort level. There’s no expectation to share everything at once. My role is to listen with compassion, help you feel grounded and supported, and begin identifying patterns, strengths, and areas for growth. We may explore gentle mind-body tools or grounding practices if that feels helpful.

By the end of the session, you can expect to have a clearer sense of how we can work together, what our next steps might look like, and whether this feels like a good fit for you. Above all, the first session is about creating safety, trust, and a foundation for meaningful healing.
