Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Brittney Shaw, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and families as they navigate the many challenges life can bring. My goal is to provide a warm, safe, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly seen and heard. With a background in school counseling and experience in inpatient care, I bring a well-rounded and open-minded perspective to therapy. I specialize in helping clients build self-awareness, gain clarity, and create meaningful change in their lives. Our work together will focus on understanding your thoughts and emotions in a supportive environment where trust is key. I believe that healing and growth happen when you feel safe enough to explore your inner world, and I’m honored to walk alongside you in that process.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and client-centered. I believe that each individual is the expert of their own experience, and my role is to provide support, guidance, and tools that empower you to make the changes you seek. I strive to create a space that is compassionate and nonjudgmental, where you can feel safe exploring your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and mindfulness-based practices—tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs of each client.

I specialize in working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families who are navigating issues such as anxiety, life transitions, emotional regulation, and relationship challenges. Whether we're building coping skills, improving communication, or working through difficult emotions, our sessions will be guided by your goals and paced to fit your comfort level. I believe that healing happens through connection, and I’m committed to helping you feel supported, understood, and empowered every step of the way.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to leave our sessions feeling supported, empowered, and more connected to themselves. One of my main goals is to help you build insight into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so that you can make intentional choices that support your well-being. Together, we’ll work on developing practical coping strategies, improving emotional regulation, and strengthening communication and self-awareness.
