Great to meet you!

Hi! My name is Brooke Velozo, Licensed Professional Counselor. I specialize in trauma, relationships, anxiety, depression, and women's issues. I have a bachelor's of science in Human Development and Family Sciences and a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I'm also trained in EMDR and have specialized training in boundary setting. As an AAPI woman, I have given presentations on generational trauma in Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.

My approach to therapy

Along with being trained in EMDR, I utilize IFS parts work, CBT, and somatic mindfulness practices with my clients. I also often teach my clients to use self-compassion and specialize in boundary setting within relationships. I utilize a warm, affirming, and calm approach. I am also a strong believer in healing not being linear and walking alongside my clients in their therapeutic journey at their own pace. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, spiritually inclusive, and culturally responsive. Every client is welcomed as they are.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, you can expect a curious, open approach as I get to know your whole story. I believe strong rapport is the foundation of a healthy therapeutic relationship, so building that trust is a priority from the very first meeting. As a client-centered therapist, I listen closely to your goals and get to know you as a whole person rather than just the presenting concern. I bring a calm, warm presence to every session, creating a space where you can feel heard without judgment.
