Great to meet you!

Therapy is meant to be a place where anyone can feel safe and understood. With all of the major stressors that kids are facing in this current age, it can be a game-changer for a child to have a place where they feel accepted and supported. I became a therapist not to pathologize or diagnose children, but to become another safe adult in their support system who guides them to their goals and cheers them on from the sidelines. I specialize in helping children and teens ages 3–17 navigate through emotional challenges, stressful life transitions, and difficult developmental experiences through play therapy and a warm, supportive environment.

My approach to therapy

I have over 3 years of experience working with children in school-based, clinic, and private practice settings. I come to sessions with a warm, personable approach to put both parents and children at ease in what can be a stressful, anxiety-ridden process. I want to make healing and progress a collaborative effort, no matter the concern. My main approach is utilizing play therapy with younger children, while also providing a safe space for teenagers to express themselves.

Today, I am the owner and therapist at Resilient Sunshine Counseling. If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I work and live by this one quote “To know that one life has breathed easier because you have lived - this is to have succeeded" - Ralph Waldo Emerson. Please feel free to reach out, and I look forward to working with you!

What you can expect from me

Our first session would begin with an introduction of myself and my practice, learning about your kid and their needs, and then developing a treatment plan together to help support your child's mental health and set tangible goals that feel achievable and motivating.
