Great to meet you!

I have been a practicing clinical social worker since 1995. During my graduate school training, I learned a lesson about clinical work with children, teens, and adults that psychiatrist Dr. Meeks reinforced in his book "The Fragile Alliance." The lesson was about the gift of trust that people give their therapist and how we, as clinicians, must honor and keep that trust to strengthen the fragile alliance of therapy. I have cherished this gift of trust each time it has been offered by someone in my practice.

My approach to therapy

"Resilience is based on being able to accept ambiguity and find hope amid uncertain conditions." This notion, shared by Dr. Pauline Boss, is central to my clinical practice. We all have moments in our lives when stress, change, or loss can leave us feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or unsure about what lies ahead. The opportunity to warmly welcome clients into my office to help them regain their center, tap into internal resources, and develop new strategies is one I embrace each time I meet someone new.

What you can expect from me

What can you expect from our first session together? I will welcome you with warmth and validation for the brave and caring step you have taken toward understanding where you are, discussing where you hope to be in the future, and creating a safe space to begin to explore how you might get there.
