Great to meet you!

Hi there! I’m Caitlin Lucas—a mom, wife, daughter, and friend, but one of the roles I value most is being a counselor. I earned my psychology degree from Lees-McRae College in North Carolina and completed my graduate studies at Milligan University in Tennessee. I’ve worked in a range of settings including community mental health, schools, inpatient care, group therapy, and now private practice, supporting individuals ages 2 through 60+. Each experience has shaped how I show up for my clients today, and I’m grateful they’ve all led me to building a practice that truly feels aligned with who I am.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy is one of the few truly sacred spaces where you can show up exactly as you are while working toward where you want to be. My role isn’t to give advice, but to walk alongside you as a teammate, helping you find your own path forward.

My approach is primarily emotion-focused, drawing from EFT and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to explore the mind-body connection and deepen your understanding of self and identity. When helpful, I also integrate elements of narrative therapy, mindfulness-based CBT, and ACT to support behavior change and create a well-rounded, individualized treatment plan.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my goal is for you to leave with a few meaningful takeaways: a fresh perspective on what you’re facing, practical tools to help manage symptoms, and a sense of hope for change and growth. I strive to create a space where you feel understood and free from judgment, while also gently offering honesty, challenge, and accountability when it’s helpful for your progress.
