Great to meet you!

Writing a bio is a lot like that icebreaker where you have to share a fun fact that somehow also proves you're qualified. So: I'm Caitlin, I'm an LCSW with a background in community mental health, residential recovery, and behavioral health programs, and I work best with people having a hard time but not necessarily a crisis. A case of the sads that won't quit, anxiety that keeps creeping in, a life transition that's bigger than expected, or people reluctantly doing the things (like exercise) that actually help. If any of that sounds familiar, hi, you're in the right place.

My approach to therapy

I favor DBT, CBT, and motivational interviewing, which is a clinical way of saying I have actual tools and I'm not just nodding and asking how that makes you feel. I'm collaborative and direct, and I'll meet you where you are rather than where a textbook says you should be.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I'll walk you through how I work, then ask a lot of questions to get the full picture of what's going on and what brought you in. You'll do most of the talking, I'll do most of the listening, and we'll start figuring out what you actually want out of therapy. It's a little awkward by nature. I promise it gets easier.
