Great to meet you!

As a therapist, I hold a Master’s degree from Walden University in social work and am currently in the research stage of my doctoral degree, with an anticipated completion in 2026. My clinical approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, ongoing professional development, and a strong belief in the importance of building a trusting, collaborative therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a supportive, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, strengths, and goals at their own pace.

I bring a broad range of professional experience from working in residential treatment centers, multiple mental health hospitals, partial hospitalization programs, and hospital-based settings. These roles have allowed me to work with individuals facing acute mental health challenges, complex trauma, and significant life transitions. My background has strengthened my ability to assess needs thoughtfully, provide structured support, and adapt interventions to meet clients where they are in their healing process.

In addition, I have experience working with incarcerated individuals and within school settings, supporting diverse populations including adjudicated youth. This work has deepened my understanding of systemic factors, justice-involved experiences, and the unique challenges faced by children, adolescents, and adults across different environments. I am committed to culturally responsive care and to helping clients build insight, resilience, and practical skills that support lasting growth and well-being.

My approach to therapy

I work with individuals, couples, and families, providing therapy across a broad range of mental health concerns. My clinical background includes treatment of depression and anxiety-related disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder, borderline personality disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic-related disorders, many stages of grief, and disrupted or broken family systems. I am trained and equipped to handle instances of suicidal or homicidal ideations. I address the indifferences within the LGBT+ population and work towards breaking stigmas in order to operate as your own person outside of worldly directives. I approach therapy through a relational lens, emphasizing the interconnectedness of individuals within their relationships and systems.. just to name a FEW areas of focus.

What you can expect from me

In a first clinical therapy session, my clients can expect a calm, supportive, and confidential environment where the focus is on helping you feel safe and understood. The session typically involves getting to know you, as the client, and understanding what brought you to therapy, along with discussing relevant background information such as current stressors, relationships, and past experiences. As a therapist, I usually explain how therapy works, including confidentiality, session structure, and my therapeutic approach. My clients are not expected to share everything at once; the pace is collaborative and guided by your comfort level.

The goals of the first session are usually exploratory rather than fixed. I often aim to build rapport, clarify your main concerns, and begin identifying initial goals that can evolve over time, such as reducing distress, improving coping skills, or gaining insight into patterns affecting well-being. By the end of the session, you can typically expect to feel heard, have a clearer understanding of what they hope to work on in therapy, and leave with a sense of what future sessions may focus on.
