Great to meet you!

I work primarily with teens- and I know some don’t want to ‘Do Therapy.' That’s Okay. I don’t expect teens to open up quickly or to explain themselves well. Instead, I focus on listening, asking thoughtful questions, and paying attention to what’s actually going on in their world. From there, I work collaboratively with both teens and parents to make sense of what’s been happening and explore new, more effective ways of managing challenges.

My clinical experience includes work with adolescents and families in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I hold degrees from UCLA, Duke University, and California State University, Fullerton, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California.

Outside of work, I’m an ultramarathon runner and long distance backpacker- I have completed the Pacific Crest Trail, Appalachian Trail, and Continental Divide Trail. When I am not on the trails, you can find me watching baseball, spending time with my dogs, or catching live music when I can.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded and practical, focused on understanding what is driving a teen’s behavior in the context of their family, environment, and daily life.

I work collaboratively with teens and parents to identify strengths, understand patterns that develop under stress, and focus on changes that support safety, stability, and forward movement. I am supportive and steady, while also being honest and direct when clarity or structure is needed.

What you can expect from me

Your Goals are My Goals:

Sessions are focused and active. We do not just talk about problems. We’ll work on what to do next.

I am unconditionally supportive, encouraging, and positive, but I am also direct and honest. I will listen and see what is happening across a teen’s life, including friendships, school, family, and how stress shows up day to day. Sessions focus on identifying what keeps situations escalating and practicing different ways of responding that can be used outside the room. Parents are involved when it is helpful, and the work stays grounded in real situations rather than theory.

For Teens:

Sessions focus on helping you talk through what is actually happening in your life and learn tools you can use in the moment. This includes handling strong emotions, navigating friendships and peer pressure, dealing with conflict, and getting through school or family situations without everything turning into a fight.

For Parents:

Parents receive guidance, not blame. We focus on clear, concrete strategies. This includes setting limits, changing how conversations happen, responding differently, and making decisions that support safety and stability.
