Great to meet you!

Hi there! I'm Candace. I'm a trauma psychotherapist (LCSW, CCTP) who works primarily with women who are experiencing anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, people pleasing tendencies. My training stems from years working as a social worker before becoming a therapist so it's given me holistic framework I channel through with my work.I've worked with individuals in crisis, to those navigating subtle transitions. I'm not easily shocked, so you never have to sugarcoat anything with me and I always meet my clients where they are.

My approach to therapy

Because each person in therapy is different, I pull from tools like trauma-focused CBT, IFS, DBT, ACT, and motivational interviewing (along with a plethora of others) depending on what actually helps you. I'll meet you where you are, and if dry sarcasm helps you feel safe, I'm happy to match it (I also know when to dial it back). I'll gently push on the changes you've told me you want to make, but only when you're ready and never faster than you can handle.

What you can expect from me

Our first session runs about an hour and it's relaxed: I'll ask some questions to get to know you, and you share whatever feels comfortable. I'll send the paperwork ahead of time, so we don't spend our time together on forms. There's no pressure to tell your whole story on day one, because we'll go at whatever pace works for you.
