Great to meet you!

Greeting! My name is Candace N Taggart, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT; license # 126763). I am licensed to provide therapy in the state of California and look forward to connecting with you soon.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I take an eclectic approach in therapy, incorporating aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, brief psychodynamic, emotion-focused therapy (EFT), and person-centered therapy.

What you can expect from our first session

My communication style is adapted to client's needs. I naturally take a compassionate, warm, unconditional stance in the therapeutic relationship while keeping a semi-structured and boundary-oriented approach in session. As a client, you should feel accepted, welcomed, supported, heard, and safe.

I take a collaborative approach on goal setting and believe goals should empower clients. Goals are meant to be both realistic, attainable, and motivating.
