Great to meet you!

Candice Gonzalez is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 22 years of experience helping individuals, children, and families navigate life's challenges. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each client's unique needs. She has worked in private practice since 2013. She previously worked in the medical setting and with Alcohol and Substance Use Disorders.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in helping clients reconnect with their strengths and sense of purpose. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel truly seen, understood, and empowered. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences openly. Drawing from evidence-based practices, I tailor treatment to each individual, integrating approaches that support emotional processing, skill-building, and lasting growth. I am especially attuned to helping clients navigate high-conflict situations, heal from past wounds, and move forward with clarity and confidence. Ultimately, my goal is to support clients in making intentional choices that align with their values and lead to more fulfilling lives.

What you can expect from me

In your first therapy session, you can expect a relaxed, welcoming space where we begin getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy and anything you’d like me to understand about your experiences, concerns, or goals. You’re encouraged to share at your own pace; there’s no pressure to open up about anything before you feel ready.

I’ll also take some time to explain how therapy works, including confidentiality, what our sessions might look like, and how I approach the process. You’re always welcome to ask questions along the way. This is your space, and it’s important that you feel comfortable.

The first session is really about establishing the connection and building trust. From there, we’ll work together to explore what matters most to you and move toward the changes or support you’re hoping for.
