I'm Candice Jeffers, your Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I bring specialized expertise in OCD and PTSD/trauma treatment, along with comprehensive care for depression, anxiety, panic disorders, mood disorders, and bipolar conditions. What distinguishes my practice is my deep commitment to evidence-based treatments specifically designed for these conditions, combined with a collaborative approach that puts you at the center of your recovery journey.

I chose to specialize in OCD and trauma because I understand how isolating and overwhelming these conditions can feel. Many people struggle for years before finding effective treatment, often feeling misunderstood or blamed for symptoms they can't control. My role is to provide accurate information about your condition, evidence-based treatment options, and unwavering support as you work toward recovery.

My treatment approach integrates the latest research with personalized care that honors your unique experiences and goals. I believe understanding your condition is empowering, so I take time to educate you about what's happening in your brain and why certain symptoms occur. Knowledge is a powerful tool in your healing process.

What you can expect is a thorough assessment, collaborative treatment planning, and ongoing support as we navigate your mental health journey. I'm here to walk alongside you, celebrating progress and providing guidance through challenges. Whether this is your first time seeking treatment or you're looking for a new approach.

My approach to therapy

One central belief shapes everything I do: lasting healing flourishes within relationships rooted in genuine compassion and authentic human connection. My care is grounded in warmth, genuine empathy, and deep respect for who you truly are. You are a whole, capable individual navigating real and meaningful challenges, carrying an innate wisdom and quiet resilience that we will nurture and strengthen together over time.

My approach is informed by psychiatric principles that recognize how formative early experiences shape the difficulties you face today. I work to build a space entirely free from judgment and stigma—one that offers true understanding and steady, reliable support. Your perspective stays central to everything we do, actively guiding every decision we reach together as genuine partners in your care.

Treatment begins exactly where you are and moves at whatever pace feels right for you. Some people respond best to medication, others to alternative strategies, and many thrive through a thoughtful blend of both. I walk you through every option with clear, honest dialogue so the path you ultimately choose truly reflects your own values and deepest aspirations.

You are never defined by a diagnosis or reduced to your symptoms or struggle alone. You are a whole person, wholly deserving of dignity, comfort, and excellent care. I am committed to honoring the cultural identities, personal histories, and unique perspectives you carry with you, ensuring your support stays inclusive, affirming, and deeply attuned to your complete self.

Healing rarely follows a straight or predictable line, and I remain steadily beside you through every step. Each session offers a safe space where your story carries real significance, your growth is genuinely seen and celebrated, and your humanity is consistently honored. Together, we explore how your physical health, meaningful bonds, and wider life circumstances shape your overall wellbeing.

What you can expect from me

From your very first appointment, you will find a safe, inviting space to speak freely about everything on your mind. I recognize that seeking support takes real courage, and I sincerely honor that choice. Our conversation will focus on understanding you as a complete person, not simply the symptoms or diagnosis that brought you here. We will begin wherever feels most natural, whether that means addressing current struggles or exploring your wider life story, and I will thoughtfully guide our dialogue while always respecting your lead.

Together we will examine what you are experiencing right now: your emotional state, stress, sleep, energy, motivation, concentration, appetite, and any thoughts or behaviors that feel heavy. We will also look at when these difficulties first surfaced and what may have played a part in them, because understanding their roots often reveals the path ahead. Your personal history holds real weight, and every dimension of it deserves careful attention.

I will ask about your family psychiatric background and hereditary influences, along with your physical health, including medical conditions, past surgeries, current medications, and any substance use. Your prior treatment history matters just as much. Which approaches and medications have you tried, and how did they affect you? This helps me pinpoint the strategies most likely to foster lasting, meaningful progress. Whether this is your very first mental health visit or you have worked with several providers before, you will always be met with deep patience and sincere respect.

If medication seems beneficial, we will review your options together as true partners. I will walk you through how different approaches work, what to anticipate, and how we will monitor your progress side by side. You will never leave a session without a clear sense of your next steps and the steady confidence that you have a committed advocate standing firmly in your corner.
