Great to meet you!

Taking that first step to start therapy can sometimes be a scary thing. Things like trust, a level of comfort, and honesty are key to having a successful therapy experience. You will find my style to be open and honest while providing a compassionate, respectful and non-judgmental soft place to fall.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Illinois State University and a Master’s degree in Education - focus in Community- Based counseling from Eastern Illinois University. With you as the lead we will work together develop a plan of action. I want to empower you to become the best you want to be. We may have to tackle some tough issues, but know you will not be going it alone.

I have lived all over the US which I think provides me with a variety of new information and knowledge. As well as learning to be flexible and “roll with the flow.” When I am “off-duty” I love to read, play golf, and play with my fur baby.

My approach to therapy

My approach is an eclectic one. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all; therapy should be individually tailored to meet the person's needs. I use a medley of treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral, trauma focused care, person centered care and others. I am also certified to provide therapy to the Military and Their Families. I have completed training in working with individuals that have a gambling addiction as well as the partners

of individuals with sex addiction. I have also been trained in Gottman techniques and basic EMDR.

What you can expect from me

Our first couple of sessions will be spent getting to know each other and your story. What brings you to therapy and what do you hope to accomplish in our sessions? The two most important things are Honesty andTransparency.
