Great to meet you!

Hi! My name is Candyss and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Master of Jurisprudence (MJ)(Children's Law & Policy) with a deep passion for supporting the psychological and emotional wellbeing of individuals and families, particularly those from underserved community populations exposed to trauma and other adverse experiences. I have nearly a decade of experience supporting youth, adults, and families as a therapist. I strive to help people grow beyond their trauma by building the resilience, skills, and resourcefulness they need to improve their quality of life.

My approach to therapy

I provide trauma-informed, client-centered, and strengths-based support that leans toward Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and integrated therapeutic strategies, recognizing the individual needs of my clients. My style is affirming, empathetic, and encouraging, which fosters your ability to identify unhelpful patterns, process complex emotions, and strengthen the coping skills you need for personal growth. You can expect our sessions to provide a nonjudgemental space for you to feel safe to explore, grow, and heal. In our work together, you are in the driver's seat and I am the GPS that helps you get to where you want to go on your road to wellness.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect to go at your own pace. My priority will be your comfort and emotional safety. We'll take time to get to know each other and talk about expectations as well as explore your current concerns, challenges, and goals for therapy. Together, we'll sketch out a plan for how to move forward with creating meaningful change in your life.
