Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia with a PhD in Counseling & Supervision, currently accepting new virtual clients for private practice. I provide warm, practical, and insight-oriented therapy for adults navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, crisis, trauma, burnout, relationship challenges, grief, and personal growth.

I’m also certified in equine-assisted psychotherapy through the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association model and offer ground-based, experiential sessions with horses in peaceful outdoor settings. No horse experience is needed, and there is no riding involved. These sessions can help build confidence, emotional awareness, communication skills, and nervous system regulation in a unique and supportive environment.

Equine-assisted sessions are available as private pay services, depending on location and scheduling, in the Harrisonburg/Rockingham County area and in Leesburg through collaborating farms/horse sanctuary settings. My approach is gentle, relational, and strengths-based, meeting you where you are while helping you move forward with clarity and confidence.

My approach to therapy

I take a warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative approach to therapy. In my virtual private practice, I integrate practical, evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Relational Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. I tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs, helping adults navigate anxiety, stress, relationship concerns, life transitions, grief, burnout, and personal growth. I believe lasting change happens through both insight and action—building healthier patterns, confidence, and emotional resilience in everyday life.

I also offer private pay equine-assisted psychotherapy through the EAGALA model. These ground-based sessions (no riding required) take place in peaceful outdoor settings in the Harrisonburg/Rockingham County area and Leesburg, VA. Equine work provides a unique experiential space to increase self-awareness, improve communication, regulate emotions, strengthen boundaries, and practice new ways of relating. Working alongside horses can be especially powerful for clients seeking growth that feels active, embodied, and restorative.

What you can expect from me

Virtual / Traditional Counseling In your first therapy session, you can expect a warm, supportive, and judgment-free space where we begin getting to know you and what brings you to counseling. We’ll talk about your current concerns, stressors, relationships, goals, and any patterns you’d like to better understand or change. I’ll also answer questions about the therapy process so you feel comfortable and informed. My approach is collaborative and practical, meaning we’ll work together to identify strengths, create meaningful goals, and begin building tools that support healing and forward movement.

Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy In your first equine-assisted session, we’ll begin by helping you feel comfortable in the environment, reviewing safety guidelines, and introducing you to the horses. No horse experience is needed, and there is no riding involved. Sessions are ground-based and experiential, meaning we may engage in simple activities with the horses that highlight themes such as communication, boundaries, trust, confidence, or emotional regulation. Horses often mirror energy and patterns in real time, creating powerful opportunities for insight and growth. You are never expected to “perform,' just to show up with curiosity and openness.
