Great to meet you!

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to build rapport and create a comfortable, nonjudgmental atmosphere quickly, even if you’ve never done therapy before. I’ve been a clinician since 1996 and have had the privilege of working with children, teens, adults, and older adults across many different life stages and backgrounds. Over the years, I’ve supported people facing depression, anxiety, medical and health-related stress, and substance use disorders, as well as complex family and relationship issues. This breadth of experience has helped me become flexible and realistic in my approach—I draw from evidence-based tools while also honoring your unique personality, culture, and values. Clients often tell me they appreciate my calm presence, practical guidance, and the way I help them see patterns they hadn’t noticed before, so they can make changes that truly last.

My approach to therapy

In our first session, my priority is to create a space where you can exhale and just be yourself. We’ll start by talking about what brought you to therapy now—what’s feeling heavy, what’s been on your mind, and what you hope might be different. I’ll ask some background questions about your history, current stressors, supports, and any previous experiences with therapy, as well as review any assessments you may have completed beforehand. You’re always welcome to share at your own pace; there’s no pressure to tell your whole story all at once. Together, we’ll start to identify your goals for treatment and discuss how a Cognitive Behavioral and holistic approach might be helpful for you. By the end of our first meeting, you’ll have a clearer sense of how we can work together, what our sessions might look like, and some initial steps we can begin taking to move you toward feeling better.
