Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Cara, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working with adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, grief, relationship concerns, and major life transitions. I earned my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Touro College and provide supportive, evidence-based therapy through telehealth in New York.

My clinical experience spans practicum, internships, limited permits, and independent practice, totaling over 6 years of working with diverse adult clients.

I’m passionate about creating a safe, welcoming space where clients feel understood and empowered. Together, we focus on building confidence, improving relationships, and developing practical tools to manage stress and emotions in everyday life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each individual. I draw from evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and solution-focused techniques to support meaningful, lasting change.

I view therapy as a partnership. We work together to build insight, strengthen coping skills, and develop healthier patterns so you can navigate challenges with greater clarity and resilience.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a relaxed, supportive conversation where we explore what’s bringing you to therapy and what you’d like to work toward. You can expect a nonjudgmental space where you’re free to share at your own pace.

Together, we’ll begin identifying goals and creating a plan that feels realistic and personalized. Many clients leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and more hopeful about their next steps.
