Great to meet you!

Hello! I’m Cara, an outpatient therapist with six years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families across all stages of life—from kids as young as 6 to adults up to 86. Teens often tell me I’m "the least normal therapist they’ve ever had," which I wear as a badge of honor! Therapy shouldn't feel stiff or clinical; it should feel authentic, collaborative, and tailored to who you truly are.

Areas of Focus

  • Neurodiversity-Affirming Care: Celebrating special interests and honoring sensory needs.
  • Trauma & Stress: Navigating past or ongoing experiences at your pace.
  • Personality Disorders & BPD: Compassionate, structured support for complex emotional landscapes.
  • LGBTQIA+ & Transgender Care: Providing a safe, identity-affirming space to explore and grow.
  • Anxiety & Depression: Gentle, creative tools to ease everyday mental health challenges.
  • Individual, Couple & Family Therapy: Supporting growth on every relational level.

My approach to therapy

Therapy is never a one-size-fits-all experience. My primary goal is to create a comforting environment where you feel safe and grounded. I know the therapeutic space itself matters, which is why clients are always encouraged to adjust the office lighting and temperature to fit their sensory preferences.

To complement traditional talk therapy, I regularly weave art, music, video games, and board games into sessions. By integrating your daily routines and personal passions into care, we make therapy practical, engaging, and deeply aligned with your actual life.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, but our first session—the initial intake—is designed to be as low-pressure as possible. You don't need to have everything figured out before you walk through the door or join the call, and you don't have to tell your entire life story on day one.

  • Get Comfortable: We tailor the room's lighting/temperature and review privacy and confidentiality.
  • Share at Your Pace: We’ll talk about what brought you in, your daily routine, and your interests—no pressure to share your whole life story on day one.
  • Build Trust: Whether we talk directly or ease in through art/games, you set the tempo. We’ll wrap up by creating a realistic plan together.
