Great to meet you!

I’m Carie Ann Ylanan, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis, where I received the Dart Opie Award for Clinical Excellence in the Care of the Mentally Ill. I bring over a decade of experience delivering recovery-focused, compassionate mental health care.

I serve the public mental health system through a nonprofit organization, where I provide care to individuals with severe mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders. I specialize in helping adults navigate mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, and related emotional and behavioral challenges.

My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered in your pursuit of wellness.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is holistic and person-centered. I provide integrated medication management and therapy, drawing from evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strength-based therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness.

I believe in collaborative care and view you as the expert of your own lived experience. My role is to partner with you—offering clinical expertise, guidance, and practical tools—so together we can address symptoms, build skills, explore patterns, and create structure that supports meaningful and sustainable progress toward your wellness goals.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to leave sessions with greater clarity, practical tools they can use right away, and a renewed sense of confidence in their mental health journey. Whether it’s improving focus, managing overwhelming emotions, or building healthier habits, each session is designed to help you rediscover your strengths and take charge of your wellness.
