Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Carisa Peeples, DNP, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 17 years of nursing experience. My background includes psychiatric emergency care, crisis stabilization, and extensive experience supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and everyday life stressors.

I provide medication management, psychiatric evaluations, and supportive therapy. I believe mental health treatment should be compassionate, individualized, and collaborative. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard, understood.

My approach to therapy

My approach is patient-centered, holistic, and evidence-based. I combine psychiatric medication management with supportive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, mindfulness-based strategies, and trauma-informed care when appropriate.

I help patients recognize unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthy coping skills, manage stress, and improve emotional well-being. I believe in working collaboratively with each person, providing education about treatment options, and developing an individualized plan that supports lasting improvement in daily functioning and quality of life.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we will complete a thorough psychiatric evaluation where we discuss your current concerns, symptoms, medical history, past experiences with treatment, and your goals.

You can expect a judgment free, supportive conversation where you are encouraged to share at your own pace. Together, we will create a personalized plan that may include medication options, coping strategies, and next steps to help you move toward improved mental wellness.

My goal is for you to leave the first appointment feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about your treatment plan.
