Great to meet you!

There are things you have learned to work around instead of talk about, and after a while that starts to feel normal. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors across California, and often with whole families who are trying to get through something together. A lot of my work is with people carrying trauma they have never fully unpacked, parents navigating the emotional weight of pregnancy and new parenthood, and people trying to change a pattern of substance use that has already cost them more than they meant to lose. My goal is to meet you where you are, not where a treatment plan says you should be.

My approach to therapy

Whatever brings you in, we start by making sense of what is actually driving it rather than managing the surface of it. Together we look at your challenges honestly, build on strengths you may not be giving yourself credit for, and put coping strategies in place that hold up on hard days. When family is part of the picture, we pay attention to the patterns between people and not only to what is happening inside one person. What I want you to walk away with is steadier footing, real resilience, and more confidence about moving forward. I am usually a good fit for people who want a collaborative partner who will be straight with them, and who want an approach grounded in what research shows works while still treating their situation as their own.

What you can expect from me

  • The first session is mostly us getting to know each other. I explain how I work, and you can ask me anything about my training or experience. We go over privacy and the few situations where I am required to speak up, we talk about what brought you here and what you want to be different, and we name a couple of starting goals. I will ask about safety, because I would rather ask than assume. By the end, we decide together how often to meet, what to focus on first, and whether I am the right person for this. If that sounds like the kind of support you have been looking for, reach out and we can start there.
