Great to meet you!

Taking the first step towards change can feel overwhelming and you don’t have to do it alone. Hi, my name is Carlah and I am here to walk beside you on your recovery journey. I believe you are more than your anxiety, depression, addiction, or your past experiences. As a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, with 21 years of combined experience in addiction and education, I will support you in addressing unhealthy patterns that have disrupted the balance in your life.

My approach to therapy

I utilize a solution focused and holistic approach that targets stressors that have led to unhealthy coping strategies. I incorporate the eight dimensions of wellness to explore areas that have contributed to the cycle of use. I am versed in a number of evidence-based clinical approaches which include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Grief/Loss, and breath work.

What you can expect from me

In our first session you can expect to be seen and heard. Most people are nervous before a first session. That's normal, and you don't have to hide it. You don't need to arrive with your story organized, or know where to start. I'll ask a few questions and follow your lead. If you want to tell me everything, we can. If you'd rather start small and circle back later, that's fine too. By the end, we'll have the beginning of a plan and you'll know whether I'm the right fit for you.
