Great to meet you!

If you are a parent watching your teen pull further away every week, or a teen who feels like nobody quite gets what you're carrying, you're in the right place. I spent 27 years as a school counselor working with kids and teens through anxiety, family conflict, academic stress, trauma, and the harder kinds of moments kids don't always know how to put into words. I also work with women navigating midlife transitions, especially the ones we don't talk about enough, like figuring out who you are in this next chapter when the old version doesn't quite fit anymore.

My approach to therapy

Sessions with me are practical, solution-focused, and grounded in the reality of your life, not a theoretical framework. After 27 years of helping kids and families through both the everyday stuff and the genuinely hard stuff, I've learned that change starts when we name what's actually working and build from there, instead of digging through everything that isn't. I draw on solution-focused brief therapy and relational work, and when something heavier comes up, I have a strong background in trauma and risk assessment to meet that moment too.

What you can expect from me

The first session is mostly about getting to know each other and what brought you in. We'll talk about what's been hard lately, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping might feel different. We'll start to identify a few specific places to focus, and you'll leave with a sense of whether this feels like the right fit. No need to have everything figured out before you walk in.
