Great to meet you!

I am a culturally-aware board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who has over 21 years of nursing experience and served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. My background has shaped a disciplined, structured, and compassionate approach to mental health care. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, mood disorders, and life transitions, with a special understanding of veterans, healthcare professionals, and individuals navigating chronic stress or burnout.

I believe effective mental health treatment starts with honesty, trust, and collaboration. My goal is to create a nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward. I value practical solutions, clear communication, and individualized care that respects each person’s unique life circumstances.

My approach to therapy

My approach is evidence-based, collaborative, and whole-person focused. I combine psychiatric evaluation and medication management with therapeutic techniques such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed care principles.

I look beyond symptoms alone, taking into account factors like sleep, physical health, stress, relationships, and lifestyle habits because mental health does not exist in isolation. I aim to help clients identify barriers, develop practical coping strategies, and create realistic treatment goals that support both immediate symptom relief and long-term growth.

My style tends to be direct, structured, and goal-oriented while remaining compassionate and flexible to each client’s needs.

What you can expect from me

The first session is focused on getting to know you and building a clear understanding of your concerns, history, and goals for treatment. We will complete a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, discuss your symptoms, review relevant medical and mental health history, and explore the factors that may be impacting your well-being.

This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and share what has or has not worked for you in the past. Together, we will begin developing a treatment plan tailored to your needs, which may include medication options, therapeutic strategies, lifestyle recommendations, or additional supports.

My goal in the first session is for you to leave feeling understood, informed, and with a clearer path forward.
