Great to meet you!

Hello and welcome! My name is Carlton Hemphill, a 34-year-old Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois (and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington) who is also board certified! I received my Masters from Roosevelt University in Clinical Psychology-Counseling Practice with a concentration on child and families. I have been working in the field since 2015 and practicing as an independent clinician in my own private practice since June 2023

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, integrative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I draw from cognitive-behavioral (CBT), relational, humanistic, and strength-based modalities. This means I focus on how your experiences, beliefs, and environment shape your patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. Together, we’ll explore your interpretations of life events, clarify your personal values, and consider what matters most to you. My style is practical, affirming, and client-centered—I aim to create a supportive space where you can reflect, grow, and move forward at your own pace.

What you can expect from me

In sessions with me, clients often find a space where they can slow down, be heard, and gain clarity about their concerns. As we talk, you’ll have the opportunity to reflect on your experiences, recognize patterns, and consider new perspectives in a nonjudgmental environment. Over time, my clients notice greater self-awareness and feel more confident navigating challenges, drawing on their own strengths and insights as they move forward.
