Depression and Trauma

Great to meet you!

I graduated from Elon University with dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Spanish and Human Service Studies. I continued my studies at the University of Chicago, where I obtained my Master’s in Social Work (MSW). Since then, I have worked in group practices supporting children, adolescents, and young adults who are coping with the effects of abuse, anxiety, depression, faith issues, family separation and conflict, grief and loss, life transitions, peer issues, disordered eating, and trauma.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is person-centered and trauma informed. I value honesty, humor, and humility within the therapeutic relationship, as well as, creativity, connection, collaboration. For each client, I take an individualized approach, eclectically incorporating therapeutic modalities such as Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Internal Family Systems.

What you can expect from our first session

I consider my role as therapist to be one of the most sacred parts of my life. Not because of my own effort, but because of the beauty inherently found in walking alongside people in search of safety, meaning, belonging, healing, hope, and love. In and through each therapeutic relationship I build, I walk away changed and inspired by people’s capacity to forgive, grow, accept, change, and see the beauty in themselves and the world around them.
