Hi there! I'm Dr. Carly Mayer, and I have been a licensed psychologist for over a decade. I've worked in many settings with a lot of different types of issues and can say that I have experience with most conditions. I do specialize in couples counseling, addiction (especially gambling, trading, shopping, etc. in addition to substance), anxiety, depression, and ADHD.
I empower people to be experts in themselves. I take time learning about clients and what they want out of the experience. This helps us decide together how best to work. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I regularly encourage feedback as to how the process is feeling for clients.
Clients can expect to share their story in a way that feels comfortable to them. They will be encouraged to think about their goals and what it would look like in order for them to feel therapy was successful. People have different expectations- it's important to understand what they look like for each individual. Finally, the hope is that a client leaves with just that, hope. Hope that things can feel better and that counseling can help with that.
