Great to meet you!

Finding the right mental health provider is an important step, and I want you to feel comfortable from the very beginning. My goal is to create a welcoming, judgment-free space where you can be heard, understood, and genuinely be yourself.

I’m a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 23 years of healthcare experience. My background includes primary care, psychiatry, critical care, dermal, outpatient care, tele-health, and in-home services. This broad perspective allows me to look beyond a diagnosis and understand how your physical health, medications, stress, relationships, life experiences, and daily challenges may be influencing how you feel.

I provide individualized psychiatric evaluations and medication management for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, stress, and other mental health concerns. I also have experience caring for patients with complex medical and behavioral health needs.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and personalized. I believe good care is not about rushing through an appointment or simply treating a list of symptoms. I take time to understand your story, listen to your concerns, and learn what matters most to you. Together, we can create a treatment plan that aligns with your needs, preferences, values, and goals.

When medication is appropriate, I take a thoughtful approach and carefully monitor your response, effectiveness, and potential side effects. I also believe that education and open communication are essential, so you can feel informed and confident in your treatment decisions.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out. Wherever you are in your journey, we can start there. My goal is for you to leave each visit feeling heard, supported, and hopeful, with a clearer path forward.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is compassionate, individualized, and collaborative. I believe effective mental health care begins with feeling heard, respected, and understood. I take the time to listen to each patient’s concerns, understand their personal experiences and goals, and look at the whole person rather than focusing only on a diagnosis or symptoms.

As a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I consider both mental and physical health when developing a treatment plan. I recognize that sleep, stress, medical conditions, medications, relationships, life changes, and past experiences can all influence emotional well-being.

When medication is appropriate, I take a thoughtful and personalized approach, discussing treatment options, expected benefits, potential side effects, and alternatives so patients can feel informed and involved in their care. I regularly evaluate progress and adjust treatment as needed.

Most importantly, I want patients to feel comfortable being honest and open without fear of judgment. I strive to create a supportive environment where we can work together at a pace that feels manageable and develop practical goals that support lasting improvement.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brings you to care. I want you to feel comfortable, heard, and respected from the moment we begin.

We’ll talk about what you’ve been experiencing, how it has been affecting your daily life, and what you would like to be different. I’ll ask about your mental and physical health history, current medications, sleep, stressors, past treatment, and other factors that may be important to understanding the bigger picture. When appropriate, we’ll also discuss symptoms related to anxiety, depression, mood changes, trauma, attention, sleep, or other concerns.

I’ll take time to answer your questions and explain my clinical impressions in a way that is clear and easy to understand. If medication may be helpful, we’ll discuss your options together, including potential benefits, risks, side effects, and alternatives. Nothing should feel rushed or like a decision you have to make without understanding your choices.

Most importantly, you can expect a conversation—not a judgment. You don’t need to know exactly what to say or have the “right” answers. Simply come as you are. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling understood, supported, and with a clear sense of the next steps we can take together.
