Carly Pierce

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida, currently practicing at Destin Counseling Center in Destin, FL. I recently relocated to the Freeport/Destin area from Orlando, where I spent over four years working in the field of substance use treatment.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University in 2011 and began my career as an elementary and substitute teacher in central Alabama. My passion for supporting others eventually led me to pursue a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Since entering the field, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including women’s residential treatment, individual therapy, and couples counseling. I especially enjoy working with adolescents and adults. I believe strongly in the healing power of therapy and the importance of having a safe space to explore and reconnect with your authentic self. Everyone deserves that opportunity.

My approach to therapy is to first help clients feel more relaxed about their personal vulnerabilities. Generally, I allow for the first session to be more introductory, getting to know one another, setting personal goals.

After the initial session with a client, I tailor sessions and interventions according to the client's needs.

As previously stated, I believe strongly in the healing power of therapy and the importance of having a safe space to explore and reconnect with your authentic self. Everyone deserves that opportunity.
