Great to meet you!

Carmalita Johnson holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with the State of Iowa's Bureau of Professional Licensure, Louisiana Board of Examiners for Counselors, and the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors.

My approach to therapy

Carmalita’s method of counseling is a rather eclectic approach! It draws upon multiple theoretical orientations and techniques to fit the client’s need(s). But in keeping close to her roots, her custom is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is great for treating depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, and other mental health conditions.

She's had the opportunity to work within various settings, providing psychoeducation, coping skills, and relapse prevention for substance abuse.

What you can expect from me

Carmalita has a HEART for others and loves to promote self care!
